Light, Space & Style | A Complete Como Home Revival

Positioned on a quiet street in seaside Como, this older home had a complete refresh for these retired parents wanting to perfect their forever home.

This renovation included a full internal gut, total clean slate and we changed the internal layout with a brand-new kitchen with bi-fold servery windows, and added all new windows and doors. The old garage was turned into a master suite with a luxurious walk-in wardrobe and ensuite, and we created a new main bathroom and laundry with a full re-wire by Phelan Electric. We created an upstairs parents retreat from two rooms and a bathroom to one large open space and made a custom angle balustrade wall for an angular modern room highlight in the parents room.

Externally, we installed Blackbutt privacy screens, COLORBOND Trimdeck cladding to the two-storey section, installed new quickstep floors, added a large beam and installed two enormous stacking doors. We also removed the existing flat roof and rebuilt new open-plan skillion roof at a higher pitch to fit in five louvre highlight windows, to flood the living space with light, renovated the existing stairs, and added James Hardie cladding.

• Welcoming Entry: A custom timber front door with vertical glass inlays complements the original brickwork, marrying old and new with warmth and style.
